Question: I drive a 1994 318is. Why won't my sunroof just pop up? It opens just fine but I want it to go UP. I've seen other cars that are the same model and they have a sunroof that pops up. Is mine challenged or am I just metarded?

Umm.. if you close it all the way and then push the forward arrow again it should prop up... mine does.

Hehe, it just took me being a little smarter than my car. The button didn't work...so I'm not a complete idiot. But the the motor had spun the little cog thing past it's teeth...it's fixed!

Hey I'm just curious on how you fix your sun room mine doesn't go all the way up and it gets stuck about 1/4 but it closes properly. I'm just wondering if you can tell me how you fix yours and kindly post some pix if you don't mind. Thanks.

There are DIY writeups on this, try bimmerdiy etc and follow the steps to take it apart. I took mine apart cause it rattles like crazy over bumps; the problem is that there are plactic lifters and sliders that break and need to be replaced. Some manuals tell you not to tackle the sunroof but it really isnt hard at all. Just dont slide the interior panel back too far or it will come off and apparently is a PITA to get back in.
