E36 Sunroof

I have troubles with my sunroof on my 1992 325i 2dr.... what I need to know is how I go about removing my roof lining and getting access to all the sunroof components so i can fix it up and get it all sored out....

any help or advice is MOST greatly appreciated...

not the slider thing to cover the sunroof.... i mean the WHOLE interior roof..

u want to replace the whole cassette? are u suppose to take out the whole interior to do that? have u tried looking at a bentley manual?

To remove the cassete you have to remove the head liner.
I agree with you taking the whole thing out to take it all apart and then fix good is the best thing, ive done it.

pretty much just rmeoved the head liner and then the cassete is some screws and it drops.

but to do the service within the cassete, i recomend you to purchase the bmw TIS and ETK cds from ebay, this will greatly guide you on your way of fixing this;

BENTLY MANUAL or CHILTON MANUAL...

Also www.realoem.com has great componet pictorials for how the E36 cars are put together....

The TIS and the ETK are also reliable. Even more info than the Bentley. am not very fond of the Chilton book.
