E36 Starting without pressing the clutch? 1994 E36 318i

Hi Guys, this might be a stupid question but this the only way I'll learn about this. Are the E36 can start without pressing the clutch? I just want to make sure if it's possible or not. One night I accidentally forgot to depress the clutch of my car and I started it, and the car started fine with no problems. Anyone has experienced this by any chance? Thanks in advance for the help

You can start e36s without pressing the clutch lol. 1997 was the year they put in the feature of depressing the clutch to start it. You're good.

ha, i have a '94 318is...I tried to start it without pressing the clutch and I'm prety sure I thought I was either gonna die, or that my car was gonna blow up. Cool for you though if you didn't have a near death experience

thats such a stupid safety feature :d no car here has that, but i suppose most people start the car with the clutch down anyway, just in case they left it in gear. but even if you did, all it does is a little hop haha
