Unhappy e36 problem please help!!!!!!

Ok heres the full scoop i changed out the power pump but didnt put back the brace that connects to the block cause its stuck to the old one but any ways i put everything back together and tride firing it up and i herd a pop sound and a big white cloud of smoke came from the engine bay mind you it 40 degreese outside now my car cranks but thats it it doesnt even fell like it wants to catch its on a 94 325i

Welcome to the Werkz

Are you referring to the Power Steering pump?
After the pop & smoke did you check the position of the pump or the tension on the drive belts?

Yea i check and everything looked fine and no i dont think it was the ps pump
Smoke was coming from around the area were the oil filter is
