Hey i heard you should change the water pump on the E36 M3 between 80,000 and 120,000. I have a 1999 with 108,000 miles on it and have had it for a couple of years. Not sure if the previous owner had it done. Is there anyway to tell by looking at it if it's been changed. Say it's now metal verses plastic or something.
If it's not leaking/broken, leave it alone, but the first-time your temp gauge moves above half-way then change it and a couple of other items too... not expensive...
REMEMBER - Do NOT let the engine overheat for prolonged periods. !!
