E36 Hardtop Adjustment

Hi,

I bought a second hand hard top for my 1999 Convertible. All seems to fit well except that there is a rattling noise when going over even slightly rough ground. I feel that this is possibly due to some slight adjustment needing to be made from car to car. Does anyone know anything about whether the locating pins are adjustable and indeed how they work.

Any advice greatfully recieved.

Yes the hardtop pins are adjustable the pin is threaded it has A 24mm nut on the bottom and a slotted ring on the top which there’s a special tool for but you can adjust it without the tool as long as you slack the 24mm nut enough and take the weight off the roof
