Funny, two completely different answers
I'm guessing you bought one of those flip blanks on Ebay. I've seen some that do look like the reverse print that comes with the e36 cars. If you were fortunate enough to purchase one of theese, the stealership can cut it for you. As for the push buttons on the flip case for use with keyless entry, I'm ALMOST POSITIVE those are dummy buttons that don't actually do anything.
I've looked at theese flippy thingies quite a bit, just haven't gotten around to getting one yet.

yeah, i got it off ebay, and it will fit my car. i believe you were right about the dummy buttons, sa'll good though. going to the local dealership to talk about it getting laser cut, money aint no thang.
heres an auction for one, for picture reference. i heard they get up to $80, i got mine for a good $40. thats including shipping.

You can, you just need a transponder bypass. I current;y have one. Looking for an EWS car to test my new upcoming keyless wireless disk start. Instead of usin g a button like my current kit, my new plan uses coded disk simply waived in front of a sensor for a few seconds to start the car.
