i bought me one of those nice smooth E36 flip keys for my 92' 318is. two questions...
1) how much will it cost to get it cut?
2) the key has the keyless entry on it...how much would wiring be for the car if it isn't already wired?
btw, im new, howdy all!

Getting it cut should be pretty cheap... I got a replacement key and had it cut from a Toyota dealer for my Camry and it was only $14... I can't imagine a BMW key would be any different to cut. I'm not sure about the keyless entry though.
You actually may be SOL for the key and the keyless entry. Your car requires a laser cut for the key...not everyone does it. Also, make sure your key blank looks like your regular key...Don't think that there were any flip keys made for early e36's.
As for wiring your car for the newer keyless entry on your key...faggettaboutit...way too much work and expense.

No squeaks or rattles... unreal!
I'm guessing you bought one of those flip blanks on Ebay. I've seen some that do look like the reverse print that comes with the e36 cars. If you were fortunate enough to purchase one of theese, the stealership can cut it for you. As for the push buttons on the flip case for use with keyless entry, I'm ALMOST POSITIVE those are dummy buttons that don't actually do anything.
I've looked at theese flippy thingies quite a bit, just haven't gotten around to getting one yet.

hes right, Stealership will do it but being that they are BMW dealership expect a high price to cut the key. Once in a while you will get a legit key that will work for the keyless entry.

I think I may get one. But I was told that only the dealer can cut your BMW keys. So the first guy that said his Toyota Camry keys were easy....BMWs are NOT easy to cut at outside sources.
I already have a Keyless entry alarm. My question is can you integrate the insides of my current alarm controller (that is dangling with my key) into the flip key switch. So then the key flip in transformed into my alarm controller. (Think Frankenstein if its confusing) What do ya'll think? Is this possible?
Anything is possible but the question is WHY would you want to do that in the first place. If you already have a key...and a keyless remote, then why bother with a flip key. I don't even think they are that cool. The only reason I would buy one is that it might take up less room in your pocket. Also, I'm thinking that if you have a chipped key...you can't use a flip key anyways.
yeah, i dont have keyless entry, and am not worried about it if its not possible..i just want the key cut, i only have 1 key for my bimmer

No, Delmarco's idea is a good one. One of the reason's I stated earlier that I had looked at theese, is because I will be installing an alarm with remote start, sunroof, windows, etc. and would love to integrate all the controls in to one flip key fob.
You can, you just need a transponder bypass. I current;y have one. Looking for an EWS car to test my new upcoming keyless wireless disk start. Instead of usin g a button like my current kit, my new plan uses coded disk simply waived in front of a sensor for a few seconds to start the car.

Also I wont do this myself any one knows the cost at the local alarm and stereo shop?
