 E36 3G alarm problem for information
I recently bought a 98 328i convertible. It has a 3G alarm fitted with a red and grey button on the key fob. The corner is also cut off on the fob.
When i got it home the alarm was very quiet but worked. I checked the master off switch on the sounder but that was in the correct position.
After investigation i discovered that there were bad connections on the connector block going into the alarm sounder under the bonnet. i had to cut the glue away that helped hold the connector in and then i pushed wire wool into the individual pins, being careful not to leave any strands shorting out. This completely fixed the problem.
