E36 328i 1996 Cruise Control compatibility

Hello

This is my first thread since joining and owning a BMW.

I need help and advice with something!

I am fitting a Cruise Control unit to my BMW E36 328i 1996/Nov RHD.

I have been told that the throttle body fitted to the car is not compatible with the “BOWDEN CABLE F CRUISE CONTROL”.

Does anybody know what part (part number) I need to make the cable compatible with the throttle body?

Your car should have come with cruise control. I'm not sure the part number but check out RealOEM.com Online BMW Parts Catalog and you can find it their.

Hello

No my car did not come with Cruise control, more the pity.

The mechanic fitting the part told me that I needed a Throttle body, I’m guess he meant;

Throttle housing Assy – 13541433385

Anybody out that knows what are talking please confirm for me.

I may have to post pictures, but under your intake mounted to the fender in front of the shock tower is the cruise control assembly. It's a small black box. You already have a throttle body. That part number gives you this: Throttle housing assembly BMW 3' E36, 328i (M52) ? BMW parts catalog

However, if your throttle body looks different you may need that specific throttle body as that one is designed for cruise control. I believe this is the case.

Go grab a copy of the Bentley Service Manual in the E36 section and it will show you.
