E36 325TDS SE Workshop Manual

Hi All,
I have done a search of all the posts looking for a shop manual for my car.
The Bently manual I have found does not cover the Diesel engined E36's, I don't need the whole book just the stuff to do with the engine and it's electronics / electrical systems.
I am trying to sort out an intermittant power problem with the engine.

Hi there

I have a similar problem. I have recently overhauled the Injectors and injector pump. I have changed the fuel filter and glow plugs. MAF wiring was burnt out so I resoldered new ones. Had the in-tank fuel filter checked...no problem there. The car doesn't rev up as quickly as she used to, Consumption wise, I used to achieve around 5.3 litres per 100kms...its now gone up to around 9.5 to 10.0 litres per 100kms with about 30% loss in power.

I will post details if I get it sorted. Could you please do the same?

Try 'landrover discovery p38a' they shared the same engine and there may be more info out there available on the net.

Also Vauxhall omega 2.5td had the m51 fitted.

Sanjiv was the pump timed up correctly when refitted ?.

On an engine with more than 12k miles the measurement taken at the back of pump is different to allow for some timing chain stretch
