E36 325i Wont Start Sometimes

I have a 325i that wont start some of the time. It will make the click, but nothing else.... and when you turn the key a few times, it wont click anymore. To make it click again, i have to shake the red wire going into the starter.

It will start by dropping the clutch, however. Any ideas?

How's the battery? Maybe the alternator needs a check. And it could be the starter as well.
