E36 325I swap Roadblock

I just swapped the transmission in a 95 325 to a manual swap. However unlike the past swaps we have run into a roadblock with a starting problem. After all the connections and the components were finished we can not get the car to start. I have tried jumping the starter relay and even pulling the Auto tranny control in the same cabin as the ECM but she won't even turn! I am trully stumpped on this issue and would appreciate any technical help! If you have any ideas on what could be causing the problem.

might it have something to do with the whole "clutch has to be depressed" issue? Is there some sensor that's supposed to send a message to the ECU allowing the car to start?
I don't know, just throwing ideas out there.
