Can anyone help.
My 320i is idling about 1500rpm until it warms up(normal temperature), then when you remove your foot to stop and idle the revs drop sharply then rev back up to 1500 and so on four or five times before stabalizing.
Any electrical boffins out there???

korkykat, does your engine light come on at all?? Idle value stuck perhaps..could be a few other things..

well i would suspect your icv would be somewhere around the intake manifold

to test ICV, go drive somewhere. Put it in 5 or 4th or whatever you want and cruise at a good speed so the economy meter stays at 40. Then when the meter is solid. turn on the ac. It should drop about 5 points. If it does then ICV is good.

test 2, turn on the ac at idle and see if the rpms drop or rise. If they drop ICV has gunk on the vane.

ghead No light on at all, just hunting at normal temperature(1992 E36 m50)
