E36 318i exterior door handle trim - how to fit ?

I'm having a real problem fitting the driver's side exterior door handle trim to my wife's '95 318i Cabrio - I've been promising to install it for weeks, and now it's crunch time...however, I can't seem to get the two tabs on the top back side of the handle to fit into the notches in the door skin. Has anyone fitted one of these before ? Any help is greatly appreciated !!

I reccommend a Bentley Manual, they aren't too expensive and they have detailed drawings and instructions for all kinds of everyday repairs.

OK, I'll get hold of one....I bought the Chilton manul but it's coverage on body trim is *very* sparse. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have a detailed manual that tells how to but no pictures, do you still want?
