well an m3 swap is like 10+ grand so it will prolly be more than that.

If the engine mounts are the same, and it's roughly the same size (isn't the e34 the straight 6 like 3.8L?) it probably wouldn't be to hard to get the engine in. BUT the other parts would kill you, like computer, tranny, differentials, suspension. Swaps are hard to gauge costs on, cause lots of stuff can and will go wrong. Especially with such a custom job.

Sure it is possible to do, but it's a hell of a job! When you DIY it takes some time, but you shouldn't have to pay for the labour, which are generally the highest costs.
