E-Brake Replacement

Has anyone taken their car to get the e-brake replaced. I have to take it to the dealer b/c they pretty much the hardware rusted out and I am getting a really bad banging sound.. he estiated about 200 + parts per side.. wondering if anyone has gotten this done.

I did it myself a couple of months ago. The set of shoes was about $40.00 and it took about three hours. Are you willing to try it yourself or are you just wondering if the price you got is fair and reasonable?

pretty much is that about how much it is going to run me.. and if anyone has gotten it done. I have heard this is a common problem in e36 and while they are doing it are they going to tell me something else needs to be done. Just preparing myself to drop another 1k.

i'd recommend doing it yourself

it's not that hard

you don't need to waste money on the dealer for something like that

Is there a DIY on it, i know they have one for the back brakes that has a little on the e-brake. I have been searching for a more involved diy and am not able to find it.. i would love to do it myself and save 400 bucks
