lol, i think it was one of those pull real hard issues with mine. i do remember having to cut a tiewrap that was on the underside of the leather boot. since my car is stored for the winter i cant just go out and see. but i believe that is what i had to do.
mines easy... u have to unscrew the little button... then pull pretty hard on the handle... it should come off.. maybe move it around alittle bit to loosen it up!
Easy, just get two crescent wrenches, pull off the leather cover( cut the tie like Furious said) and work them one side at a time untill you get it off.
There is a special tool but you don't really need it.
P.S. komodo, be careful not to damage the sensor at the rear of the brake,
you will see it when you take off the boot. It's the sensor that makes
the park brake light come on your dash, Its very delicate and can break easily!!
