1. What the hell is with the AF? The dyno guy thinks it's most likely the chip.
2. I thought stock M50s pulled 160hp. I was expecting more. Should I expect improvements when I sort out the AF?
The numbers do look a bit weak, but I think that's partially because the headers dont give that much of a gain. Those numbers do look good as far as indicating a chip, intake and exhaust.
Your A/F ratio looks fucked up because whoever did your dyno run is a dumbass and doesnt know where to put the sensor.
although, lookign over both graphs again, do you have the righ chip in your car!!!!!!!?

ps. this was my first dyno ever...
Thanks!

Isnt the car like 190hp thats what company claims rite, why is it only 163 WHP, i mean i know its wheel, but why does company claim their inline 6 325's have 190hp, i know they dont say anything else liike crank hp or wheel hp.
I think u need a rebuilt, i really dont know.
///M Power - You think that 164 sounds good for chip, intake, exhaust? I thought M50s dyno'd at 160 stock.... 4whp doesn't sound enough for my mods. The chip is definately for my production date....
What could cause the A/F to jump around like that?
So possible reasons I have are:
1. Chip
2. o2 Sensor
3. MAF
Now placement, how easy is it for the guy to screw up? Where exactly is it supposed to be? He's done some other local BMWs and they had normal A/F so I'm thinking he knows where to place...
Excuse me, no 164 is weak. I wasnt thinking and assumed your car had 170 hp stock. I was thinking m20 for some stupid reason.
Yes, thsoe are piss poor numbers.
Just a few questions. Were your tires wet? How si the driveability of your car, does it feel choppy? How clean was the place you went to, his machines might need some maintainence? Do you have any check engine lights? Thats a pretty nasty looking power curve. What type of dynojet was it? And finally, where did he put the a/f sensor when dyno''ing your car. Did he take off your valve cover? Does he even know where you coil packs are?

What redline did they program into the chip? It looks like a 5,000 rpm redline limiter but who knows. The M50 is only 110 hp stock, so those gains are pretty good overall. Other than the abrupt shutdown at 5k. Hunt around for a M52 motor to rebuild and drop in there.
Tires - I drove through light rain on my way to dyno, but was not raining for the last 20min of driving...
Driveability - Feels fine, no chop.
Cleanliness - It seemed fine, he does alot of business and has good referrals.
Type of Dynojet - I don't know.
A/F Sensor - He hooked something to one of my coil packs.
Hamfisted
Mine engine has slightly over 190hp in the brochure (crank). Where are you getting the 5,500 redline from? It looks like the chart goes all the way to 6,800rpm?
Albeit my engine has high miles (193), I still thought I'd have higher hp. But the hp #s don't bother me as much as the AFR. I want to solve this problem ASAP...
So by using logic, my engine is running too lean. So either I'm getting too much air or not enough fuel. Vaccum leak could cause too much air, what else? A problem with the injectors could cause not enough fuel, what else?
I get the number from the service manual for the early '90s M50 motors. It says 110 hp @ 5900 ? (up to '95) The 2.5L motor was never a rocket anyway. Just a smooth reliable (stock) motor.
Could be fuel injector limitations? May have to go to a bigger set of fuel injectors (pass more gas...). I've read in the past that the stock injectors reach max flow around 5k. Does he have any printouts from other near stock 325's? Try the stock chip and see what it does.
