Hold up there man.... With all due respect you busting this guys chops about posting in the off topic area about asking what Rice was is about as silly as putting 22" rims on a hundyai... I have read A LOT of posts on here that are a lot less relevant and a lot more uninformed and some which showed so much ignorance that they should have been posted in off topic (or someplace even worse than that) but no one (not even me most of the time ) said anything. Have a little tolerance for the man from the UK, because maybe one day you will want hin to get some UK spec part for you and box it up and mail it.

Why can't we all just get along? [/b][/quote]
or he could post in the correct section couldnt he? if a person is from US or the UK it shouldnt matter. this topic has nothing to do with a e36.

Well maybe it is matter of perspective........ First of all someone used the term in a post that was relevant so it follows that a question as to the meaning of term would be forthcoming. Secondly, I have read literally dozens of posts where someone asks for help on a topic and there are 4 answers that start with " i dont know about your problem but widget I installed on my dad's camry behaved almost like the same way as the prior poster said his dad's mercedes did..." Now is that off topic? If I am the guy looking for information, I know it is. If I am just reading the post and rolling my eyes thinking " does this person have any other agenda other than to see himself in writing?" Then I personally see it as off topic also. Maybe you and I should even be having this discussion privately and the others are thinking " could you two idiots not clog up the bandwidth with this petty crap?" Hmmmmm maybe they are right .... :-)

No, we're thinking.....
"Go smoke a joint bro....before your head explodes!!!"
They didnt attack him, just made a suggestion. Preaching about tolerance??? WTF?
Rice, as in "rice burner", is a term used from the Vietnam war when cars burned a RICE (or soy) based fuel. it followed the cars even when they began to once again use petrol based fuel after the war was over and the supplies were not so limited. in this form it IS NOT a racial remark, but a remark about the way the car is made.
sorta like a hybrid car is known as, well, um.....stupid???
May I just stand up for the UK here and defend that we are not un-intelligent. BLACKBMW, you put yourself down a little too much in that opening line! Stand proud!
I also was quite unaware of the RICE! I knew what you meant, but didnt understand the origin.
I was thinking Rice as in Eastern as in Eastern cars, mainly featured in such great movies as "The Fast and The Furious"

Hmmm.. tolerance you say? Well if it is tolerance about nit picky people maybe I could do better... If it is tolerance about your suggestion to go smoke a joint, and you are advocating using marijuana becuase you can't cope with your life.. then if that is the case do everyone on this board and the planet a favor and stay in your freaking little cubby hole and get stoned till you die, but dont get into your BMW and drive around stoned .. For that I have no tolerance..
