i have seen race versions of the e36 which have looked sweat! i was just wondering if anyone have ever done anything or heard of anything like this? And is it possible?
it was going to come out both sides the the vehicle and through the side skirt, not just around the body but actually through the body.
Any ideas, i thought it would be awsome; especially with m3 side skirts and a finishing plate for a border around the hole.
This would mean you'd have to cut into part of the sub frame.. to get through the side skirt... I've also thought about this.. but have come to the conclusion that it would:
if you can pull it off all the power to ya, but those race cars are different machines than what we see on the road, easier to change the exhuast to side mount
Midas is going to do the work for me, they said that it wouldn't be a problem to bend the piping and there is enough room for the piping. it is a cat back system, so i can switch it out for emissions. I'm going to use little glass packs for the mufflers.
its a good remark about the subframe being in the way, i will have to ask Midas if its going to be a problem.
yeah please say through te body and dont have them stick out to far, im not a huge fan of this idea, dude to the glass packs and yeah its not a mustang but its still very creative bro
I have been thinking for a while about doing this, and have decided to go ahead with it. I'll take pics along the way. I'm going to cut the pipes off of the old catback muffler to get the flanges off, then take some 2.25" pipe slide the flanges on, expand one end on both pipes to match up on the other pipes at the cats (hope to soon get a track pipe), Then i'm going to crush bend the pipes, cut a whole in my side skirts, put in some sheet metal to protect the rest of the side skirt then cut the pipes flush with the skirt.
