Here is an interesting situation... I took a road trip 160 miles away from my home all highway. Upon stopping at my first light the car acted like it wanted to die. The RPM dropped from idle (750 ish) to just below 500 and sputterd, doing this three times before I gave it gas. It then stopped on its own and has not done it since. Keep in mind when I bought the car, that 160 miles put me around 800 miles I put on the car. The dealer said the car sat for a while, long enough to drain the battery, also he had to put gas in the car when I picked it up. My first guess was bad or cheap gas. I have been putting 89 octane in since buying the car. Anyone heard of this issue before?

ummi would say battery, go get it tested! my alternator just died and i had drops in rpms when it was dieing!! if you have been filling up with good gas it Probably isnt that might be wrong trhough!! thats weird that it stopped on its own though...

Not always true, i had about three alternators die without a warning light. i heard the spool make more noise than it should, and the lights dim alot, but no warning light. that only happens when the battery dies.
