Driverside fender

There was a post going about clear side markers (not clear corners). I had mentioned that I couldn't get my driverside to fit. I realized why after I took my passenger side out. The carfax on my car listed that the car had been in an accident in 2000, but was not totaled. It appears that the damage was to the driverside. The hole that the marker fits into is nothing like it should be (using passenger side as ref.). It's been filled with bondo, rather poorly too, sanded and reshaped. That's why the side marker was siliconed into position. They couldn't get it to fit, and I can't get it to fit either.

My question is this, I want to replace the driverside front fender, and have it repainted and installed. How much would a new fender cost, and about how much to paint and install?

I thought about replacing them both with some new M3 or Z3 fenders. I don't know how it would look though.

That kinda sucks. Oh, well. Depending on how easy they are to remove, I might just try to find one at your local salvage yard. This would undoubtedly be the easiest and most cost effective way of finding one. Other than that, I would guess it's time to bend over for the stealership.

I'll keep doing google/yahoo searches and try to find a parts dealer online.


Any guesses on how much a body shop would charge to pain just one fender?

In Rhode Island it's about $275 per panel for paint.
