Drawing Power From battery - BMW Forum

so, i still am having problems with the power draw from the battery...
alternator is fine, battery is fine...

i have no knowledge on how to use a multi-meter...
i will go out and buy 1 if some 1 can help me use it... and how to find the draw in my car....

is this is DIY job, or is it too much to handle!

do you have a car alarm?

and as stupid as it may sound, do you turn your lights off before you kill the engine?

yes, i have an alarm.. and it is aftermarket, with remote start...

and on occasion, i leave my lights on after the kill, but i never LEAVE them on, like overnight...

aftermarket stereo system? if you have an amp(s) hooked up then it might be a good idea to look into getting a capacitor.

did u try this out with a new battery?

take a digital camera and set it on 10 sec. timer with no flash.
Place and trigger it in the trunk and close the trunk.
Do the same for your glove compartment.

Check the pics to see if the lights in there are still on even if the car is off.

Might be the switches there. Also does your engine fan still spin after you turn the car off for a little while to cool down?

ok, in response to your questions...
this started with the old battery... "some interstate battery"
i replaced the battery with the optima.. a week later the problem started again...

glove box lights turn off and so do the trunk light...
