Door wont lock

I have a 96 328i automatic. my front passenger side door wont lock unless i use the key on that door. if i try and lock from drivers door all doors lock except that one. i can even manually lock. i push it down and it comes back up. is this the door lock actuator? if not what is the problem and how do you fix it.

Yup...99.9% actuator....recently changed mine on the same door.....bit of a struggle to change it the first time but can be done !!!

I am having the same kind of issue but in the rear door, is the dis-assembly much different than the front door pictures shown?

Its virtually the same, once you have the door card off, common sense will prevail....

Actuator for sure. My rear passenger side wont unlock ... or would sometimes but wouldn't lock. So I disconnected it altogether ... the one time out of a million when someone uses that door I just unlock it by hand.
