Door Rattle - BMW Forum

Guys,

Anyone know how to get rid those annoying door rattles? Mine seems coming not from the door panel, but from the contact between door and the rubber on the body frame. I've been hearing the do and don't to fix this problem but I'm getting confused. Is silicone based spray will help? Or Lithium? Or teflon? Help guys... the car is great but those rattles is really getting into my nerve

This is a known issue, due to the composition of rubber used on the door moldings in some production runs of the E36. Unfortunately, the replacements aren't cheap. I would try teflon based lubricant. Definitely not lithium because it's a heavier white grease normally used for bearings and hinges.
