door handle screws (not the plastic door panel clips)

ive tried a ton of different screws to try and just luckily FIND the perfect fit, but i'm really having a lot of trouble doing it--- what size screw goes into the door handle to help hold in the door panel? im talking about actual screws, not the horrible plastic clips that snap into the door panel. actual metal screws that go into the big metal plate that holds onto the window motor and stuff.

any help welcomed!

Try #7 sheet metal screws, about 1" long. The original has a Torx T-20 head, but you can use whatever.
