Do it your self supercharging

Any one supercharge their engine with out a kit? Before I got my BMW I was planning on installing this supercharger setup on my 2.2L S-10, but then I sold it off to get the BMW. In the future I might try gather the parts again and supercharge my car. The Supercharger was off of a 2.3L Mercedes Slk 230 and has an electric clutch that you can turn on and off, similar to a A/C compressor. The supercharger is made by eaton and is in the M-45 class of their superchargers. It would probably work out awsome on a 4 cylinder BMW too.

I bought all the stuff pictured for Under $350 and ended up selling it for $600. So it is really not all that expensive.

I just loved the fact that you could turn on boost with the flip of a switch.

BTW, did you think about changing pistons, headgasket and so on...... The increased forces in your engine shall damaged it!

id like to see how this ends up. personally i think nothing but negative will come of it. however i would like to be proven wrong so that i can look into this myself. :lol:

My friend had a supercharger on his Mustang. Let me tell you it tore the SHIT out of his engine. I'd stay away from something like that. At the most a turbo or two, if that can even be done.
