I have a 1992 (production date is 8/92) I was looking into cams and they are only comatible with vanos engines im still a newbie so im trying to understand my can fully

from what i understand they didn't come with them till after 93, and you would use cams made for the e30 2.5?, but seriously don't quote me on this, anyone know for sure
But you, like me, have a kick ass sounding exhaust that the VANOS equiped 325's just don't have!
There are some threads here with sound clips that show we already sound like we have an aftermarket exhaust; compared to newer Vanos engines. Search for them if you like...
well look at it this way...the non vanos m50s have hotter cams...

and no you cant use the cams from the e30 2.5 that would be an m20 motor and those were single cams if i remember correctly

the E36 started in 92, the first production model engine was the M50 which had no vanos installed.
later with the 93's they changed it to the M50/T which was a single vanos engine.
im not sure of the months or anything that they changed production on the models, since they make the newer years a few months before and all of that, but as general knowledge, thats how it works.
