Do the 3 series e36 cars have tilt wheel on them?

Hey i own a e30 325is and am lookin at buying an e36 325i/is and i was curious on wheater or not they have tilt wheel on them?

yes they do have tilt steering, its manual not automatic. but the car does not have a telescopic steering wheel

Hey Furious, whast year or country did they offer a tilt in an E36? I work for BMW in the U.S. and have never seen one and my tech friends either.

Tilt steering = ability to adjust the steering wheel's height, further towards the ceiling or further into your lap.

And yes, as far as I know, all E36s have tilt steering.

thats what i thought. i dunno about the cars in the states but mine has it (im in canada which should be the same cars basically)
i have a lever under the steering wheel, you push it down and you adjust the height of the wheel to your liking, then push the lever up to lock it in place.
guys check your car, there should be one on your car.

I'm in Canada too (Vancouver), and all the BMWs I've ever seen listed in Canadatrader / buysell and any I've ever personally seen have all had tilt steering. Edmunds also lists tilt steering as a standard factory equipment for all E36s.

my 93' 325i has the tilt lever under the wheel also. I'm in Japan, though :P

I'm in canada and my wheel also has that lever that you can pull down so that the wheel goes up or down.

Im in the US!! I have tilt.....its right under the wheel, like on the steering column....hard to pull down...then i lower it :P

Depends on the car. I believe the IS models do not have tilt. My '98 328IS does not have tilt.

Yes they have it in the US but a majority of them don't. Personally my 93 325i doesn't have it.

thats messed up why are some tilt and some not. and GD mines an IS model so your IS theory is out the door :lol:
