Does any of you buy your first Bimmer after Oct. 1, 2003 in California? And then how much did you pay DMW?

I did and paid almost $500 for a 1995 325i. I just found out it is $82 due this Sept. to renew. I had thought I'd expect a refund after Governor Arnold rolled back higher fees imposed by his predecessor.

You should have received a major refund. You might visit the DMV and have them investigate. If you belong to AAA, they might be able to help you as well.

btw, the fees were not imposed by Gray Davis, the California legislature passed a law, signed by the Governor a few years ago, to the effect that when the economy is good, the fees would go down (which they did). And, when the economy was bad, the fees would go back up (which they did).

Obviously, Ahhnold twisted the facts (as confirmed by your post) to get elected. He bought the election at the expense of college students, the mentally ill, the sick and handicapped. Way to go! That's what America is all about.
