Would anyone happen to know if there is a site or forum post that outlines the replacing of an ignition switch?

Here is a document I put together from the BMW TIS. I did not know much about your car so I plugged my VIN into the program and this is what I found. By the way, the document is a word attachment. Good luck.

INstalled an aftermarket ViPER car alarm and while I had the panels open I ventured into replacing the ignition switch. Thanks to 'dblmikeusa1' the word doc helped a bundle. The switch wasn't the source of the problem but it's one less thing on the list of possible reasons my 325 has problems starting. Next I tackle the starter... hey DBLMIKEUSA1... any more word docs to help with the starter replace...

Sure, give me the last 7 of your VIN. It should be two letters followed by 5 numbers. That way I can get the right engine and options the car has...

ebay... I bought mine for $30 American. Do a search for either ETK or TIS. Make sure you are getting the one with all discs; I think it is 6 or 7.
