Diy Replacing Convertible's Rear Window? - BMW Forum

Folks,
Has anyone attempted to replace the rear window of a e36 convertible?
I can get a genuine BMW replacement from bav auto for around $280. I wanna save on the labor from the stealers. I saw some instructions on this website http://www.emiata.com/BMWInstructions.htm

Comments / suggestions? I am in the silicon Valley area (CA-USA)

Best bet would be to just go to a glass place.. and have them do it.. so it doesnt leak and what not...

I changed mine when I got my car...good thinkin' not going to the dealer..they wanted $350 just for the install!!!! (More than the cost of the window)...I bought a new one on E-bay and searched locally for a place that works on interiors as well as convertible tops...the guy installed it for like $150...

Worth it I think...The top to my car was not something I wanted to experiment with...end up with a car full of water...(or snow right now)
