| Diy Icv - 97 M3 Alright, before I get jumped on this one let me say this, I did already read several of the DIY ICV cleaning write ups that have been done. Unfortunately, none of the write ups I found where on my engine (I believe I have a M52?). I have a 97 M3 (US).
The question I have is this, when trying to remove the ICV, following the other write ups, my ICV is inverted compared to the other pictures. Can you even get to the wiring plug without removing the intake manifold? I have looked around a while and can't seem to find a good way to get in there. I am missing something? Any help would be great.
On a positive note, I was having an idle problem, thought it was the ICV and while disassembling the air box, throttle body, and rubber tubing, I found one of the rubber tubes is torn. I did a temp. patch on it with some electrical tape and my idle has smoothed back out and now the service engine light is staying off (it kept tripping a "major evap emissions" code).
Thanks.
Craig
