Disable Factory Alarm

I just bought a 1998 328i convertible with factory alarm. How do I disable it? Directions say to flip a toggle switch on the dash but I can't find it!

I don't have a switch either, mines controled by the key fob.

At least you have the fob!

I have the stickers on the glass for it.. mentioned in the manual.. no fob.. just the key with the light in it

I know the fob controls the alarm - what I am trying to do is totally disable the alarm so I don't have to use fob.

If it was that easy to remove, the cars would get stolen.

The alarm would need to be uninstalled.
