dirt in alternator air intake hose

I was trying to replace the voltage reg on my alt, when i took off the air intake hose thing from the alt. i swear to god, it had almost a pound of crap in it, the air flow was cut off so badly, that there was like a one inch hol ein the middle instead of a 3 incher haha it was easy to clean though!

not that it really affects the alternator too much but its a good idea to clean them anyways. i have to clean mine all the time because i upgraded my alternator for my stereo system.
