Dinan for E36 M3? - BMW Forum

I recently purchased a '98 M3/4 w/ Dinan Stage 2 ECM upgrade [incl. cold air intake & cat-back exhaust]. It feels great. But I'm curious about the specs. Any idea how the Dinian S2 tweaks affect HP &/or torque. Thanks!

These number are from the Dinan website. They don't give numbers specific to the stage 2.

Stage 1 ECU from dinan
Maximum Horsepower Gain 10 @ 5000 rpm
Maximum Torque Gain 10 lb/ft @ 5000 rpm

CAI From Dinan
Maximum Horsepower Gain 12 @ 6000 rpm
Maximum Torque Gain 11 lb/ft @ 4500 rpm

Free Flow Exhaust from Dinan
Maximum Horsepower Gain 9 @ 6500 rpm
Maximum Torque Gain 7 lb/ft @ 6500 rpm

I had to go to the individual page for each part to find the numbers and they don't list any for the stage 2 ecu. They could do a better job with that site. I am guessing that the max cai gain is with the stage 2 ecu upgrade. The stage 2 is meat of otherwise stock w/cai upgrade.

Thanks, again. Maybe this is a little optimistic... but if I add up the numbers you found, I guess the Dinan bits raise my HP from 240 to ~270. Maybe sometime I can check it with a dino. Do you know how much loss is typical for 'at the wheels' measures compared to usual claims? 10-20%?

I honestly don't recall what it is for the M3. There are a couple dyno sheets floating around here somewhere...

edit2: I just really looked at those numbers... those are fw numbers not rw numbers... back to searching.

my guess would be about 230ish hp and 220ish tq at the wheels for you. This is simply guessed over other dynos i have seen from reading... E36 M3 Dyno Sheet Library - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum
