I am having a problem getting this chip to work in my car. The seller claimed it was for 92-94 cars but if the ecu # is the same, shouldnt the chip work regardless of the year? I installed the chip in my car and the car wont start, so i reinstalled the origional and it started up fine... Anyone have a clue why it's not working? The ecu number it was made for is the one I have! ... i dont get it ...

Sounds like another case of Ebay. When it comes to software man, spend some cheese.
I know what you want to hear from us is constructive so I'll stop with that.
I've been reading about chips as I get closer to buying one. I still have to add a few more parts and then hit the dyno. One thing I've read is that there are a lot of fakes or copies on Ebay. Was it supposed to be genuine or a copy? Got any pics, wanna see what it looks like. I have a book that shows fakes v.s. authentics in it.
Yeah, it's supposed to be real. The dinan part number is #D900-2551E. Even if it was fake, the car should still start right? I mean... if the ecu numbers match then the chip should theoretically work, right? I'm just confused why the damn car won't start at all...

Are any of the legs on the IC chip bent or perhaps dirty?
Post a pic if you can. I have a real Dinan chip and I'll tell you if yours looks anything like mine.

or if you did buy yours from ebay the dude could ahve taken the ecu number from your model car wrote that the chip was for it, printed it on the fake chip sold it to you, and in the end its not even aworking chip... not saying that is what happened, but possible
I can't post a pic at the moment, but the chip is brand new with no bent or dirty prongs at all. So are you guys all certain that all that needs to match up with the chip is the ecu #? There can be only one type of chip per ecu #? I mean I saw a chip for an M3 and it had the same ecu number as the one for my 325i! So theoretically if all that needs to match up is the ecu number than the m3 chip would work in my car... im confused..
