Different Window Question

When I hit the button to make the drivers side front window go down (one touch down) when it first starts to go down it goes real slow and makes noise, then after about a 1/3 of the way down it stops making the noise and goes down the rest of the way at its normal speed. So my question is, does it sound to you guys like there is something down there? Or does it sound like the motor is going out? I just want to take the door apart once to fix this, I just helped a friend in a 95 maxima replace his power window motor, and don't really look forward to taking the door panel off after that experiance, so should I just bite the bullet and buy the motor? Or is this not symptomatic of a failing motor.

um... it's a 1995, 157k miles, just started a couple days ago... um... I not too sure what other details would be helpful, but if there are any I'll be glad to provide them....

I replaced both of my power windows in my car. I also removed the power windows in my friend's 325.

you may need to add some grease to the window tracks, you may also need new plastic slides to fit into the tracks, just possibilites. If the window is making a lot of noise, its possible the window needs to be adjusted, it dosen't necessarily mean that the motor is shot.


The best thing to do is to take off your door panel so you can see whats going on, then move the window up and down, you should be able to figure out the problem by watching it move. There are several screws that adjusts the path of the window.

It may just be in a bind.
