Depressing

My mom has 2 cars, a lexus gs400 and a merc 560sl.

I've been thinking I'm all cool, upgrading my bmw, making it nice and quick....
just to realize today that my mom's car can run circles around mine. 300hp at the wheels on a car that weighs WAY less...

I feel.... lost.

No way dude. Its not depressing until your away from the bimmer for a week, and all you had to drive is an automatic alero.

not only that, but when you get back to where your car is, it competes for parking space with a 2000 328 and 2004 Cayenne S.

I'm not sure the displacement, a bit of googling would tell though. 300hp. It's from 1986. I'll get pics someday... :-p

They're pretty beastly cars. My dad has the little brother as it were. Well.... the much older littler brother atleast.

5.6L V8 possibly 5.5. The 600s, now those are something to be afraid of. Mmmm V-12

For the most part, all of their numbering is the size of the engine. There's a couple times it's not correct (I.E. 300e can have two different engines, a 3l and like a 2.6l) but most car companies are like that. It's marketing.

I looked up the specs, it's got like 230 bhp, and an impressive 280 ft lb of torque.

Where did you look it up? Supercars.net reports it wrong (read the 2nd reply in the thread at the bottom of the page on that same site even....)

I've always heard around 300... Eitherway though, it's a quick car.
