Defrost temperature

I own an E46 2002
When the heating system is in full auto mode there is always some air comming out of the defrost. The problem is that the air is always at full heat, and after a while, it gets so hot that I have to lower the temperature. this helps but it's not ideal. I can still feel the hot air comming from the defrost.
The dealer looked at it and said that everythig was normal.
He sais that I should go to maunual mode to prevent air from comming out of the defrost.

Can anyone tell me if this is a normal situation ?

not sure, im usually complaining about not enough hot air out the defroster.

HAHAHA!

i replaced my thermostat and have much better heat now, but i don't think that will help you. i use manual mode 99% of the time anyway what do i know.
