My car is dead.

I loved my car.

It got me my license and showed me freedom that I've never known before. As I mourn its loss

- I look for salvation in the hope that someone out there in the big wide world - would be interested in saving it or using its "organs"- so that it can go on having its happy little thoughts and happy little dreams in parts of other happy little cars. OR maybe, just maybe, there is someone out there that can get me a good deal or refer me to good people so that I can bring it back to life - oh what joy that would be! Right now, the "operation" will cost close to $4K. Although life cannot be valued, Kelley Bluebook retail seems to disagree, quoting $5K in good shape. Alas, I cannot afford $4K to go toward a $5K life. I think I must go on and find another happy little car - unless anyone could recommend otherwise.
Year/Make: 1992 BMW 325i
Mileage: ~157K
Life Issues: steering rack, left/right tie rod assemblies, left outer ball joint, front rims, water pump, thermostat and housing, o-ring, profile gasket, level switch, coolant hose, oxygen sensor, alternator/water pump serpentine drive belt, climate compressor belt, engine drive belts, disk brate rotors font and rear, disk brake pad set front and rear, brake pad wear sensors, power steering reservoir, intake manifold power steering hose, return pipe with cooling coil
Reason for Issues: small accident - hit a curb, had piss poor diagnostics from BMW mechanics that never told me of these problems when I brought the car in for inspection previously. Insurance said they wouldn't cover anything although I had bumper to bumper. They said all of this could be attributed to normal wear and tear. I would think the steering rack, tie rods, and warped rim could at least be attributable to my hitting the curb - possibly the power steering as well? I didn't have any noticeable problems until after the accident.
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Questions: Is the $4K I was quoted by a BMW mechanic reasonable for the above repairs? Does anyone know of a reputable BMW mechanic they could refer in Cincinnati, Ohio? If there is no hope of saving her, is there a place that I can sell her as scrap to - if so, how much could I get?
Is there anything really left? This is soooo sad.

Is there no hope for redemption? I don't have much money and don't think I can save the poor thing.
