Hi guys i am a new member here and maybe soon i will be a owner of a bimmer

hes is the description of the car:

its a 1992 325IS 2 door black manual transmission ..with only 125 000 K

but theres a problem the car is a VGA.. ( big accidented car )

because of a fire on the dash.. the guy who bought this car a year ago passed all his time and money on this machine to restore it.. and now he doesnt have any time or money to spend on it..

so he decided to sell it..

and now i am interested to getting and continuing the project.. here is some picture of the car.. partially redone..

the dash has been replaced with a newer one.. but as you can see there is 2 airbags.. but in the model 92IS is suppose to have only one right???

do you think guys this car can pass the inspection even if there is 2 airbags..??

the other probleme is .. there is some small pieces that i have to buy as you can see on the pics.. and there is some wires to place...

this guy says he spent 5000$ to become the way is it now.. ( sorry for my poor english)

and now he is selling this car for only 2500$$ (canadian dollars)

is this car worth??? or it is really a lose of time and money???

please help me..

no eventually the fire went to the interior finition of the doors.. and the leather..

yeah dude if its not all mesed up from the fire i say buy it project cars are always greaft fun! how did the fire start to begin with?

How does the interior smell? I know once a car has been wet inside it stinks forever...even if you have some sort of crazy "ionizer" in it overnight...don't ask...long story....

Decision's yours, but bear in mind BMW parts are bloody expensive. VERY VERY expensive should you need to cahnge anything afterwards.

how much do you have to fix it up? or are you going to fix it up over time? What's the deal with the windshield? is it just taped on there? also on the top has the paint just completely peeled off? sry I got bored after about 20 pictures...

If you have the time and money, and you HONESTLY think it is worth it, then go for it...It will take a lot of both of those to get that car back up to par. Otherwise you can still find other really nice 325is's out there with similar mileage for about $7-8k.

I think if you redid it to like a real classy custom show Bimmer or a performance racing Bimmer, then rock on, it would be a great project car....

I actually looked at all of the pictures you took man.... Run away from this car .. run fast run hard... This thing ius what we call a yard car.. been sitting in a yard a long time. Look at the the heavy rust on well everything, shocks are shot, some sort of fluid on the rear spare well (could be blown back from rear diff or tranny, fire was hot enough to peel the paint off the roof...I would be worried about the strength of the metal being compromised,l not to mention distorted which may make it impossible to get a new winshield to seal correctly. I think you are making the assumption that this car was a well maintained vehicle that had a fire and was repaired. I think it was not too well maintained and even after you fix all the fire damage you have all the regular repair and maintenance issues to deal with. does not sound like a bargin to me, and I have built several projectrs cars in my life.. Just my opinion though

the tape on the winshield??? the winshield has been replaced with a new one the metal of the roof didnt lose and kind of his structure only paint has peeled off..

and the interieur doesnt smell at all.. remember this fire happened a year ago.. and all the pieces has been changed in the interior,,

i didnt go see it myself yet.. i am going to see it tomorrow morning.. i dint take the pictures.. i want to hear the engine running.. the cosmetics thing on the car exterior i dont really care because like the other guy said it would be a project car..

for the roof im pretty sur that i will cut it off to make a convertible..

this car would be a pass-time when i got nohing to do..

at the price that this car would cost me 2500$CA

lets says if i put around 4000$ of fix ..i think this car would be AWSOME...

but i will give you mt conclusion tomorrow..!
