Its been a while since ive had a chance to argue this Downing Atlanta Supercharger kit for the 318is. I have run the numbers (SAE and Downing Specs) and determined that the kit offered output that matched my goals.
As of 6-14-05 i have ordered the kit. My only issue is that i have never worked with forced induction and i dont know what i may be forgetting about. here is my list of things i have considered/decided would be a good choice of engine upgrades.. (let me know what you think of the list and if i am missing anything)
1- Downing Atlanta Supercharger Kit
2-Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
3-gator pulley
4-upgraded injectors (depends on tuning, decided later)
5-fuel pump
6-water pump
7-aluminum thermostat housing
8-upgraded radiator fan
9-fan clutch (needs to be replaced)
10-rotors
11-upgraded brake pads
12-brake pad sensors
13-m3 clutch
14-m3 flywheel
15-m3 slave cylinder
16-downing intercooler kit
17-independent oil cooler
18-x-brace
19-sway bars
20-spark plugs |
I guess I missed something? What goals did you have? You ordered a supercharger? From where? How much?
Am I supposed to pick what I think is a good idea for you to get? Those aren't all "engine upgrades" though.

used Well, if it were me, I guess I'd get rotors if they needed replacing... and definately the fan clutch. MAYBE break pads if I wanted/needed them... I dunno about a sway bar or two or x-brace... If you DO get a supercharger and anything else, I would def. suggest all the options for cooling shit down... esp the fan.
If you're looking for a faster car, though, I'd suggest just buying one. If you want to mod your car instead... I'd suggest replacing the engine with something with at least two more cylinders.... It'd probably be cheaper than what you have in mind. Either way, give it a few more days...
