Dam O2 Sensor... - BMW Forum

So I finally found the time to replace the sensor and the check engine light is still on! The dealer told me which sensor it was so is there something I'm missing? Do I have to reset the light somehow. This is becoming very frustrating!

From all the experiances I've had with fixing faults and coded problems... I've had to reset the computer system. Look in to a Peake Research tool.. they are worth the money in the long run...

i have two separate O2 codes right now on my car. I pluged it in to the Snap On computer we have at auto shop. but if you replaced it. it should go away. i reset all codes on my ECU at school and it cleared the light. shorty after it came back on, beacuse the problem isn't resolved. get the light reset and it should stay off unless its giving you another code

when you got the new one, you didn't touch the new tip that goes in the exhaust did you? well touching it a little won't hurt, but if you did, you could have rubbed some skin oil on it that will make it malnfunction.

I decided to buy the Peake research tool. The dealer told me that they would charge $50 CAD to reset the light. I figured the tool would pay off in the long run. My mom has a 328 as well so I can use it on her car. I really hope that it just needs to be reset. Otherwise it's back to the drawing board.

Go to autozone. They will check and reset it for you provided that you have OBD-II. Don't trust what they say because i had an O2 sensor code and they told me to replace the wrong one and of course they are not returnable once they are installed.
