Hey guys i had to remove my heat shield underneath the car . it was falling appart , would it be safe to drive without it , is it safe to drive without it????

Which is the heatsheild you are refering to?

If you mean the one on the hood then you're ok, but since you said under the car i doubt that's it, so if you mean any under neath the car, I wouldn't want to drive to far until its replaced.

While you're replacing it, you should also consider replacing the plastic underpanels on the front of the bumper. They get old and tear our easy, and right now there's a group buy on them.

I think he is referring to the exhaust heat shield which protects the driveshaft.

Mine fell off ages ago. However, my mechanic advises me to reinstall a new one as the heat from the exhaust tends to dry the rubber Guibo (flex disc) and causes it to crack. Some people will tell you that it does nothing, but for peace of mind, I'd rather have it there.

Oh that I guess I don't have that either since it went with my stock exhaust..the UUC TSE2 didn't come with the kit.

I'd think the heat shield was originally installed for a reason..... Better to replace it, i guess!

Thank guys , was really worried the heat off the exhaust might be too much for the fuel tank . Its gonna be some bitch too replace , it looks like i have too rip out the whole exhaust system ghead
