Custom License Plate

I've never really looked into it before, but coming up in November I'm going to have to renew my license plate and I was wondering how you get a vanity plate. It obviously takes time to make, you can't just walk in and they hand it to you like a normal plate, but do you have to go and do some paperwork, then they mail it to you, or how does it work?

In Oklahoma you go to the tag agency and tell them you want the form for a vanity tag you get it fill it out and mail it in, in OK it takes quite a few months to get it but you also have to keep up the registration on your regular plate.

In November I'm looking at almost $400 in tag fees. So should I apply now, so I'll get it around the right time? Because if I wait too long, I'd be faced with a plate on order in November, and an expired plate until it comes in.

Does that make any sense? lol, kinda jumbled up.

I believe you can order the custom plates from somewhere else, but just needs to be registered.

go to the dmv website, you can do it from there...
