My cup holders suck. 98 323is and it wont even hold a cup. I cant run the drive-through on my way home, becuase i cant take the drink back home. The only thing its ever held is a pint-sized Arrowhead water bottle. They have turned into just big change holders. The only advantage it entails is I cant drink and drive (not that i ever would). Am I the only person who has to deal with driving while thirsty?
Mine use to work fine...... it holds it... but not very securly... I mean.. if you hit it with your hand.. it will probably fall over... thats good enough for me.. I dont know about you.. but thats cool with me.
I use the slide out holders in the flip-down center of the rear seat in my 96 318i.
You can exercise you back stroke by having to reach behind you, but after a while you tend to know where your drink is
well, no rear-cupholders for us 2-door's with the folddown seats...
97alpineM3, what armrest?? Huh?!!?
yes, I agree, these cupholders suck and only work for change and misc small parts... Some of the plastic tension tabs are broken and let change slip through...
the 32oz cups from Taco Bell and Wendy's fit fine in my 318i...the cups are tapered at the bottom and fit snuggly...that and the cans of soda fit fine...the only problems are the gallons of water I always drink(I work out a lot, haha). But I find that they can actually fit snuggly between the front of the back seat and the back of the console. It doesn't go anywhere...and for those of you drinking half gallons of whatever, when the door is shut, it fits nicely on your left side, kinda resting on all the seat adjustment levers...try these and you may be suprised :cheers :drunk :gulp :beer
DUDE!!! I don't know about all you but I can put a cup of coffee in my cup holder and run twisties all day long! :gulp
I have slammed on the brakes and damn near locked the ABS up and the cup still stuck full of coffee. Maybe it is just me, but make sure you have the black plastic ring that always comes out when you pull you drink cup out!
I have the 2 door with folding down rear seats and a center console if that helps anyone.
I dont have cupholders in my car either. When I read this at first I thought you guys were trying to drive with a cup on those tiny cupholder things when you open your glovebox. What are those things anyways?
My drink holders hold my drinks in place fine, but I just can't let down my arm rest. (the cup holders are UNDER the arm rest) I always rest my elbow on my armrest when i'm driving, so it's kinda annoying when i have a drink there and have to flip it up. =/
Atleast you've got an armrest. It's weight reduction oke I swear
