so if i put my cruise control on it will work for about a min then it like just startsslowing down i realize it when im at like fifty and everyone is looking at me as they fly by on the highway. whats up with this. anything i can do before i got to tampa.
Either the brake or clutch pedals will deactivate the cruise control. Pushing the lever up or down will also yield the same result. To activate, push the lever forward while traversing at the desired speed.
If you are doing everything right, I really don't know what could go wrong. Maybe the cruise control throttle cable is lose or something.

I'd check the switches on brake pedals as well as clutch if you have one.
"As you know, the cruise control goes off whenever you touch the clutch (if
you have manual transmission) or brake pedals. There is a switch on each
for that purpose, so if out of adjustment or defective, that can easily be
the cause."
Check this link below. It's not about the problem you are having but it shows you where the clutch/brake switches are.
nope dont have a clutch. and im sure im not touching gas or brake. but im already back from tampa so i wouldnt use it now. infact i porbably would have not used it anyway. but thanks for all your advice i might think about going to fix it
