Crazy Windshield Wipers?!

This just started happening about 2 weeks ago. Sometimes the wipers are fine, but other times they just have a mind of their own. They will go intermittent for a bit, then they'll just run for a few swipes repeatedly, then sometimes they won't shut off at all!!! I'll flip the switch to the OFF position, and they just keep going. Is this an issue with the switch itself? It doesn't seem to be, but maybe? Or is this a symptom of the Comfort Relay that I've heard about? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks!

Only 2 thing I can see doing this first is the switch and the second Is the wiper module or I think the early E36 had a relay if it is a relay I doubt that will cause this, but the later module may they are mounted under the dash on the right side. If it's a left hand drive car you'll have to remove the glove box.

its prolly just the relay which is making it go on when not sopposed to be!

I think you're probably right. Any idea which relay it is, or what the part number might be? I'd like to just order it and swap it out when I'm in there to replace the pollen filter...
