Is there some easy/short-term repair for a crack head gasket. I went for a quote at the dealership comes out to $2100 Canadian. Btw my car leaks oil at a drastic rate, small (4 inch) puddle every night.
personally dont drive it at all, your gonna cause potentially more damage to the engine, there is no good solution to it except to fix it....where are you located in canada?
Furious I am in toronto, you told me about Autotrend, I will get a quote from there also but its still no cheap solution. Also you think I can sell the car as is, or would I need to tell the buyer this.
Hmmm... you should tell the buyer about it... would you like to buy a car only to find out that the car has a blown head...?
Did you try finding a used one? Did you try a non-dealer shop? They tend to be cheaper. Maybe you can find a used head in TO or Montreal, I can call around over here.
Thats the least of my troubles, currently my car is at the autobody shop, they are trying to get the hood open. The cable for it is basically stuck because of fender-bender I had a year ago. Plus the handle and spring broke off so I need to get the entire cable replace. 4-5+ hours of labour charge. BTW the car is probably running low on oil since I have'nt added any oil for the last 2 months.
I call this other place up, Lakeview Motors. They gave me an estimate of $1100 + tax. I might sell the car tell the owner it has the gasket leaking and take a $1000 off the price of the car.
